Founded in 2012 by San Diego burlesque performer and producer Lola Demure, Demure Productions began with a mission close to home. After Lola’s son was diagnosed with Autism, she set out to raise awareness, support families, and raise funds for Autism research. Over the course of three years, her fundraising efforts brought in more than $15,000 for the San Diego Race for Autism—and along the way, Lola discovered a passion for producing live entertainment.
 

What began as a mission to give back grew into a production company dedicated to bringing people together through the magic of live performance.
 

Over the years, Demure Productions has produced events and provided entertainment throughout San Diego and Riverside counties, working with venues, organizations, festivals, and community events including King of Clubs Car Show & Drag Races, Mods vs. Rockers, the Point Loma Association, The Ken Club, The Cove Bar & Grill, Til-Two Club, The Marble Room, Queen Bee’s Arts & Cultural Center, and many more.
 

From 2014 to 2020, Demure Productions held a residency at the legendary House of Blues in San Diego’s Gaslamp District with Lola Demure’s Burlesque & Variety Show. The show celebrated the incredible diversity of the local performance community, bringing together burlesque artists, belly dancers, circus performers, singers, and a wide variety of other talented performers for a truly one-of-a-kind experience. From 2018 to 2020, the show evolved into a dinner-theater format, regularly selling out both performances in a single night.
 

When the world shut down in 2020, Demure Productions refused to sit still. The company took its shows online with Pandemic Peepshow, a biweekly virtual event featuring performers from across the country. The series was created in part to support artists who had been left without the financial relief they needed during the pandemic, giving performers a platform, an audience, and a paycheck when live stages were unavailable.
 

As live entertainment returned, Demure Productions returned to the stage with new ideas and new ways to bring people together. From Bacon & Legs Burlesque Brunch to showcases celebrating emerging performers, the company continues to create events that are entertaining, unexpected, and rooted in community.
